On Tuesday, law enforcement in Baghpat district apprehended a wanted suspect following an encounter. This information was confirmed by the police.
The arrested individual has been identified as Anish, a resident of the New Basti area in Badaut. He is accused of firing a weapon with the intent to kill his minor sister. Anish had been on the run since the incident, prompting a police manhunt.
According to Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Praveen Singh Chauhan, authorities received a tip-off indicating that Anish was near the bus stand close to Sultanpur Hatana village.
Upon surrounding the area, the suspect opened fire on the police. In the ensuing exchange, he sustained a gunshot wound to his right leg and was subsequently taken into custody. Police recovered an illegal firearm and ammunition from the scene. The injured suspect has been admitted to a hospital for treatment.
